Environment Policy
Answerpak Limited adopt a responsible attitude at all times towards environmental needs as a minimum to meet the following:
1. The requirements of the Law and the interests and safety of our employees and customers;
2. A good and safe standard of operational activity in the communities in which we operate, on a good neighbour basis and
3. Good product stewardship.
In our area of industrial activity, we shall aim to maintain leadership in a reduction of resources through design. By continuing with high quality standards and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, we intend to produce, use and only use safe, clean products, with a minimum impact on the environment. The designed minimum use of resources enable us to reduce the weight of packaging in harmony with current and future Packaging and Waste legislation and Industry-specific regulations or codes of practice.
All special and controlled waste will be disposed in the correct manner, in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 & Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991.
To prevent unauthorised discharge to surface or foul water drains, disposal of any liquid(s) including water based substances to drains is only permitted if authorised by Answerpak Management and local authorities. Burning of any waste is not permitted. All General Non-Hazardous dry waste shall be disposed of using the designated waste containers provided on each on site.
Answerpak is committed to continually maintain and improve Environmental Standards and in harmony with Safety and Quality standards. The Company shall endeavour to ensure employee awareness and understanding of these standards and Company policies and procedures. All employees are encouraged to minimise waste and optimise yield from raw materials and to make use of any non-contaminated foam offcut and packaging materials where possible.
All employees are made aware of our Environmental Policy and are actively encouraged to raise any concerns or suggest any improvements to Safety, Quality or further reduce waste or impact on the Environment.
Answerpak employees are made fully aware of good housekeeping standards and that all waste, empty bags and corrugated cartons and paper should be segregated where possible and disposed of in designated waste bins or skips only. Where possible, plastics or other material waste produced or imported shall be reused or recycled to reduce waste going to landfill.
POLICY COMMUNICATION AND REVIEW
A copy of this Policy and all subsequent revisions will be brought to the notice of each Answerpak employee.
This Policy will be appraised periodically to determine the need for alteration and revision.
